Within the scope of governmental measures taken due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the termination prohibition, unpaid leave and short-time working allowance have been extended once again, for an additional two months, with the Presidential Decisions No. 3134 and 3135, which were published in the Official Gazette No. 31287 dated October 27, 2020.

What Do the Presidential Decisions Say?

The prohibition of employment termination and employers’ option to send their employees on unpaid leave during the determined period has been extended until January 17, 2021.

Short-term Working Allowance

The period for short-time working allowance has been extended for an additional two months, within the framework of the same principles in the previous extensions. The new two-month extension period will start as of the end of the last two-month extension period.
