COVID-19: Termination Prohibition and Unpaid Leave Extended to March 2021

Recent Development

Within the scope of governmental measures taken due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Presidential Decision No. 3135 extended the termination prohibition and unpaid leave until 17 January 2021.

The termination prohibition and unpaid leave were extended once again for an additional two months with the Presidential Decision No. 3344, which was published in the Official Gazette No. 31350 dated 30 December 2020.

What Does the Presidential Decision Say?

The termination prohibition and employers’ option to send their employees on unpaid leave during this period was extended until 17 March 2021.
