We are pleased to announce that Esin Aygün has joined Esin Attorney Partnership’s Competition practice group as Counsel. With more than twenty years of experience at the Turkish Competition Authority, particularly in areas of merger control, investigations and digital market regulation, Esin will strengthen the firm’s expertise in competition law.
About Esin Aygun
Before joining Esin Attorney Partnership, Esin served as Chief Advisor to the Turkish Competition Authority. In this role, she advised on strategic matters relating to digital platform services and e-commerce markets and contributed to the development of Türkiye’s regulatory framework for digital markets.
She is also a member of the Advisory Board of the Turkey Initiative at the George Washington University Competition and Innovation Lab and contributes to international competition law and policy initiatives as a Volunteer Competition Ambassador for the University of Oxford’s Value of Competition project.
Prior to her role as Chief Advisor, Esin served as Vice President of the Turkish Competition Authority, overseeing the coordination of six departments and leading the Authority’s work on external relations, competition advocacy and strategic development. She also previously served as Head of the Digital Markets Department, where she played an active role in significant competition law and merger control reviews concerning technology-driven markets and contributed to the modernization of Türkiye’s merger control regime.
Throughout her career at the Competition Authority, Esin has been involved in many of Türkiye’s most significant competition law matters across a broad range of sectors including digital platforms, telecommunications, banking and finance, automotive, healthcare and manufacturing. Her experience spans mergers and acquisitions, antitrust investigations, secondary legislation, sector inquiries, and competition policy.
Alongside her professional work, Esin is pursuing a PhD in Law at the University of East Anglia, where her academic research focuses on the regulation of digital markets and the interaction between competition law and emerging technologies.
